Everest Base Camp (EBC) has long been a dream destination for trekkers and mountaineers. This alternative route combines the best of both worlds, presenting trekkers with a unique opportunity to experience the breathtaking landscapes and serene lakes of Gokyo before reaching the EBC.

The trek begins in Lukla, where trekkers embark on a thrilling flight, renowned for its scenic beauty. From Lukla, the trail passes through the Dudh Koshi river valley, flanked by lush forests and picturesque Sherpa villages. Passing through Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest. We recommend trekkers to spend one more night for better acclimatization. As trekkers veer of the main trail towards the shimmering turquoise water of Gokyo’s pristine lakes. The trail unfolds amid stunning glacier, towering peaks and captivating landscapes. There is hill called Gokyo Ri as a Everest view point, provides an awe-inspiring panorama of the entire Everest region, with four of the world’s six tallest mountains visible from it’s summit.

After reveling in the beauty of Gokyo, trekkers continue their journey to the Everest, crossing the challenging Cho La pass. The pass also offers an adrenaline-pumping experience and rewarding views. The trail then continue with the traditional EBC route. The Everest base camp, situated at an altitude of 5364m. The base camp serves as a base for mountaineers preparing to conquer the mighty Everest.

Overview

During the trek, trekkers are greeted by the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people, know for their mountaineering powers and deep-rooted traditions. The local tea house and lodges along the trail offers comfortable resting spots, delicious local cuisine, and a chance to interact with fellow trekkers from different country.
